About IIIT Hyderabad
The International Institute of Information Technology Hyderabad (IIIT-H) is an autonomous university founded in 1998. It was established as a not-for-profit public-private partnership (NPPP) and is the first IIIT in India under this model. The institute is known for its strong research orientation, innovative curriculum, and close industry collaboration.
Located in Hyderabad, the capital of Telangana and a major global IT hub, IIIT-H provides a vibrant academic environment. The institute's focus spans cutting-edge areas like Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Data Science, Computer Vision, Natural Language Processing, Cybersecurity, VLSI, and Human-Computer Interaction.
IIIT-H is recognized as an "Institute of National Importance" under the IIIT (Public-Private Partnership) Act, 2017. This status underscores its critical role in India's higher education and research landscape. The institute's governance structure involves the Government of India, the Government of Telangana, and industry partners, ensuring its growth is aligned with national and global technological needs.
